Kirstie Alley shot to fame when she joined the hit sitcom Cheers in 1987, stepping in for Shelley Long. She stayed with the show until it ended, earning a 1991 Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. In 1994, Alley won a second Emmy for the TV drama David’s Mother. A year later, she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She continued to shine in the sitcom Veronica’s Closet as lingerie store owner Veronica Chase from 1997 for three seasons. Later, she starred in her own show Kirstie (2013-2014), playing Maddie Banks, a Tony-winning actress reconnecting with a son given up at birth.

Many also remember Alley as a Jenny Craig spokesperson from 2004 to 2007, where she famously lost 75 pounds. Though she admitted regaining the weight later, she returned to the brand in 2014 after shedding 50 pounds.
