Girl, 23, Stabbed to Death Playing Outside
Deividas Skebas, 23, plunged a knife into Lilia’s chest as she played in the street with her little sister. The horrific attack happened in broad daylight on Fountain Lane, Boston.
Fatal Stabbing Shocks Boston Community
The stabbing occurred around 6.20pm on 28 July 2022. Emergency services rushed to the scene and gave Lilia immediate medical aid before rushing her to Boston Pilgrim Hospital. Despite best efforts, she tragically died from her injury.
Suspect Arrested and Held at High Security Hospital
- Skebas, once of Thorold Street, Boston, was arrested two days later at his former home following a public appeal.
- He was charged with murder on 31 July and remanded in custody.
- Following a two-day hearing at Lincoln Crown Court, the jury accepted the facts of the case.
- High Court Judge McDowan ruled Skebas must stay indefinitely at a high-security hospital under strict restrictions.
- Release or transfer can only happen with approval from the Secretary of State for Justice.
No Criminal Verdict Yet – Future Trial Possible
The court previously found Skebas unfit to stand trial, based on reports from three forensic psychiatrists. This fact-finding hearing was to establish whether Skebas caused Lilia’s fatal injury. No criminal culpability was assigned at this stage.
If Skebas recovers enough to face trial later, criminal proceedings can resume. For now, justice remains on hold in this tragic case.
