Brutal Scissors Attack: Lewis Oakley Jailed for 2 Years 5 Months

Lewis Oakley savagely beat and throttled his victim before pressing open scissors against her face and arm. The horrific assault unfolded in the early hours of 16 May 2022. Oakley didn’t stop there – he slapped her, yanked her hair, and threatened to burn down her home.

Quick Police Response Leads to Arrest

Police were called to a disturbance at Queen Anne Road at 3:30am. Within 15 minutes, Oakley, 25, was caught and locked up at the scene.

Guilty Pleas and Heavy Sentence

Oakley appeared at maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court, admitting to causing actual bodily harm and threats to kill. Additional charges of controlling behaviour and criminal damage remain on file. On 23 March 2023, he was sentenced to two years and five months behind bars and slapped with a five-year restraining order.

Investigator Praises Victim’s Courage

“Oakley showed violent behaviour just weeks after meeting the victim,” said Detective Constable Tamara Beech from the Maidstone Vulnerability Investigation Team. “She suffered a terrifying ordeal, struggling to breathe and left with cuts and bruises.”

“I commend the victim for her bravery in helping us bring this violent man to justice. Thanks to her, Oakley is now locked away and can no longer harm others.”
