Chilling Threat and Choking: Sick Abuser Jailed After Victim Escapes
43-Year-Old Walker Jailed After Terrifying Ordeal
A 43-year-old man’s dark deeds came to light only after his victim managed to escape and call the police. Walker, from Chester-Le-Street, sat with his victim’s blood on his hands and threatened to “finish her off.” At one horrifying point, the woman lost consciousness from choking.
Victim’s Brave Stand Leads to Justice
In a victim statement read in court, the terrified woman revealed she resorted to filming herself to keep a record of her movements, fearing for her life. At Durham Crown Court on Tuesday, December 6, Walker was slammed with a two-year prison sentence and a seven-year restraining order.
“The victim showed immense bravery in coming forward to us, not only that but she was able to provide us with key evidence which resulted in Walker’s guilty plea at court,” said PC Emma Donnelly from Consett Safeguarding Team.
“I hope her fearlessness encourages other victims of domestic abuse to come forward and not be afraid to disclose information to us – look at what we can do for you.”
