Tragic Death on A249: Man Hit by Lorry After Falling onto Road
Fatal Incident on A249 Near Key Street Roundabout
Kent Police were scrambled to the southbound carriageway of the A249 at its junction with Key Street just before midnight on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Emergency teams from South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue also rushed to the scene.
Man Dies After Falling onto Road and Being Struck
Officers say a man fell onto the carriageway and was subsequently hit by a lorry. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A coroner’s report will be prepared as part of the investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Kent Police are urging anyone who was travelling on the A249 near Sittingbourne or around the Key Street roundabout at the time to come forward. They are particularly interested in dashcam footage that could shed light on what happened.
