A suspect has been charged by detectives investigating a serious assault that left a man critically ill in the hospital. Following reports of a stabbing, a man in his twenties was discovered with serious injuries in Valley Road, Carlton, around 10 a.m. on 11 January 2023. Imani Rhone, 24, of Byron Court, Sneinton, was charged last night with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the incident. He is scheduled to appear today in Nottingham Magistrates’ Court. A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault causing serious bodily harm and is still being held by police. The victim is still in critical condition in the hospital. This incident demonstrates once again the devastating consequences of knife crime,” said Detective Inspector Simon Harrison of Nottinghamshire Police. “I am pleased we have now charged a suspect and hope it reassures residents in Carlton who may have been concerned by the incident. We believe it was an isolated incident with no wider public risk.”
