Man Stabbed in Carlton: Suspect Charged as Victim Remains Critical
Serious Assault Rocks Carlton
A stabbing in Carlton has left a man in his twenties fighting for his life. The victim was found with serious injuries on Valley Road around 10 a.m. on 11 January 2023. Emergency crews rushed him to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Suspect and Woman Arrested
Detectives have charged 24-year-old Imani Rhone from Sneinton. He faces charges of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. Rhone is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today.
Additionally, a 24-year-old woman is still in police custody, arrested on suspicion of assault causing serious bodily harm.
Police Reassure Public After Shocking Attack
“This incident demonstrates once again the devastating consequences of knife crime,” said Detective Inspector Simon Harrison of Nottinghamshire Police.
“I am pleased we have now charged a suspect and hope it reassures residents in Carlton who may have been concerned by the incident. We believe it was an isolated incident with no wider public risk.”
Authorities continue to investigate as the community urges for peace to prevent further violence.
