Thieves raid Wellington Street building in the dead of night

Overnight break-in targets offices

Burglars struck between 10pm on Thursday, January 19, and 7.15am the following morning, breaking into a building on Wellington Street. Their haul included a three-figure sum of cash, a cash box, several bottles of alcohol, mixers, and various household products.

Wheels on the getaway: green bucket used to haul loot

Police revealed the crooks also nicked a green bucket with wheels. Montrose Police Constable Ross McIntyre said: “It’s likely the thieves used the wheeled bucket to move stolen items out, which probably caused a noise disturbance in the neighbourhood.”

Police hunt for suspects

Constable McIntyre urged anyone with information to get in touch. “If you know anything or who was involved, please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0633 of 20 January 2023.”
