Danielle Jones’ Killer Denied Parole Again
Danielle Jones vanished on June 18, 2001, after leaving her East Tilbury home to catch the bus to school. Months later, her uncle, Stuart Campbell, was jailed for life for her kidnapping and murder. But he still refuses to say where he hid her body.
Parole Board Slams Door Shut
A Parole Board spokesperson told The Sun that Campbell’s latest bid for release was rejected following a paper review. The panel also refused to move him to an open prison.
“Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner may pose to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community,” the spokesperson said. “We carefully examine evidence including the crime details, behaviour change, and the impact on victims. Our top priority is public safety.”
Family Demand Justice, Back Helen’s Law
Danielle’s mother, Linda Jones, has long campaigned against Campbell’s release unless he reveals where her daughter’s body lies. In 2019, she voiced her support for Helen’s Law – legislation stopping parole for killers who withhold the location of their victim’s remains.
Police Hunt Fails to Find Danielle
In 2017, Essex Police dug up garages near Campbell’s former home, hoping to uncover clues. After a five-day search, nothing was found.
“Unfortunately, we have been unable to end the pain Danielle’s family continues to endure, and we remain no closer to knowing where Danielle is,” the force said.
