Police were called to a property in Rivergreen, Clifton, around 6.45pm on Sunday after reports of a fire. The Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service quickly extinguished the flames, ensuring no one was hurt.

Detective Sergeant Steve Dalby of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Our investigation is at an early stage and we are working to understand what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident.

“We want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around 6.45pm yesterday evening. We believe this was an isolated incident, but officers remain in the area to reassure locals.

“Please call 101 with any information, quoting incident number 631 of 19 February 2023.”
