Deadly Collision Shuts Down Bramcote Lane
Police and emergency crews raced to Bramcote Lane, Wollaton, at around 3.50pm on Monday 20 March following a serious crash. Sadly, a man and a woman were declared dead at the scene.
Family Devastated, Driver in Custody
Relatives have been informed and are receiving specialist support. No arrests have been made, but the suspected driver is cooperating with authorities as investigations continue.
Minibus Passengers Unharmed
Contrary to rumours of more injuries, Sergeant Steve Waft from Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit confirmed five people were inside a minibus involved in the incident — four teenagers and one adult — none suffered physical harm.
“This is a devastating incident, and everyone’s thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones and friends and those affected by yesterday’s collision,” said Sgt Waft.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Bramcote Lane was closed most of Monday afternoon and evening but has now reopened fully. Police urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage to come forward. Contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 438 of 20 March 2023, or ring Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
