Petrol Bomb Attack Rocks Newtownards Evening

A terrifying petrol bomb was hurled at a house in Newtownards on Saturday night, sparking a blaze and causing serious damage.

Flames Doused, But Damage Wreaked Havoc

Detective Sergeant Cargin revealed the chilling details: “At around 10.15pm, we got a report of a petrol bomb thrown at a home on Dicksonia Drive.”

Police and firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames. However, several windows were smashed, and the front of the property suffered extensive damage.

Arson Investigation Underway

Thankfully, no one was home during the attack, but officers are treating it as arson with intent to endanger life.

Detective Sergeant Cargin urged anyone who saw suspicious activity or has CCTV footage to come forward: “If you witnessed anything or have any doorbell camera clips, please contact us on 101 quoting reference 1963 of 25/03/23.”
