Four-Year-Old Girl Fatally Attacked in Back Garden

Police are investigating the heartbreaking death of a four-year-old girl following a dog attack in Milton Keynes. Officers rushed to a property in Broadlands, Netherfield, just after 5pm on January 31, after reports a dog had attacked a child in the backyard.

Dog Put Down at Scene

Tragically, the child did not survive. Armed officers destroyed the dog at the scene that same evening. Officials say the dog was a family pet, and the breed is still being confirmed as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police Appeal for Information

“Our investigation is progressing rapidly,” said police. “We are conducting several enquiries and urge anyone with information to come forward. Please contact us via our website or call 101 quoting reference 1546 (31/1).”

Family’s Privacy Must Be Respected

Police also condemned widespread speculation, calling it unhelpful and distressing to the grieving family. “The family have asked for their privacy at this difficult time. We will provide further updates when appropriate.”
