Four Men Jailed in Major County Lines Crackdown in Worcester

Detectives from South Worcestershire Proactive Team have smashed a notorious County Lines drug gang, landing four men hefty prison sentences for serious drug offences.

Jay Line Gang Busted After Year-Long Probe

The operation began in 2022 when police arrested 22-year-old Oliver Brighton, found with drugs and believed to be a key player in the Jay Line, a major drug-running network operating in Worcester.

Supported by West Midlands Police and the West Mercia Intelligence Unit, officers then arrested three more men linked to the gang. A haul including thousands worth of crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis, and £10,000 cash was seized.

Sentences for Key Players

  • Himesh Suri, 27, Birmingham: 5 years 8 months for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, plus possession of criminal property (sentenced 9 February)
  • Aaron Brooks, 32, Smethwick: 4 years 5 months for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (sentenced 10 March)
  • Oliver Brighton, 22, no fixed address: 5 years for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of Class B drugs (sentenced 3 March)
  • Steven Edwards, 41, Worcester: 1 year for permitting use of premises for Class A drug supply (sentenced 3 March)

Police Vow to Keep Pressure on Drug Gangs

Detective Sergeant Luke Papps said: “While our operation led to closing this line and jail time for these gang members, our work is far from over. Serious and organised crime, especially County Lines drug dealing, remains a top priority for West Mercia Police.

“We want Worcestershire to be safe for all. We will continue to make life hard for these criminals, working with other police forces and agencies to stop them poisoning our communities.

“Our focus remains on prosecuting those who bring drugs and violence into our towns and exploit vulnerable people, especially children and young people.”
