Tragic Find: Missing Jayran Discovered in Towcester Brook
Body Found in Silverstone Brook
Northamptonshire Police confirmed that the man found in Silverstone Brook, Towcester, on Tuesday, April 18, was 20-year-old Jayran, who had been missing for weeks.
Search Sparked by Jacket Discovery
Detective Chief Inspector Johnny Campbell revealed the search began on March 28 after Jayran went missing. The breakthrough came when Jayran’s jacket was spotted hanging on a gate near the bridge over the River Tove on April 1.
This prompted a three-day underwater search over the Easter weekend around the Watermeadows area. Sadly, Jayran’s body was found in a different waterway.
Community and Family in Mourning
“Our thoughts are with Jayran’s family at this incredibly difficult time,” said the police. “They are being supported by specialist officers, and we ask that their privacy is respected.”
The police confirmed Jayran’s death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will now be sent to HM Coroner.
Local Support Praised
Local neighbourhood sergeant Greg Taylor also expressed sympathy: “Towcester is a close-knit community, and everyone is shocked and saddened by what has happened.”
“Our officers have been working hard on patrols and inquiries. We really appreciate how the local community has rallied to support the investigation. Their help has been invaluable, and we thank them for their continued support.”
