The 32-year-old Woolwich prison employee is being probed following allegations that she had a romantic involvement with McSweeney.
McSweeney, 29, is receiving a life sentence for the June 2021 murder, sexual assault and robbery of 35-year-old Zara Aleena as she went home from a pub in Ilford.
On April 6, Metropolitan Police stated they received an accusation of inappropriate behaviour by a serving member of staff at the institution.
Officers arrested a 32-year-old woman on suspicion of public office misconduct. She was then released on bond until late July, pending additional investigation.
Met Operations detectives are investigating the incident, and inquiries are ongoing.
A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Justice told The Sun that an investigation is ongoing and that illicit interactions are not tolerated.
McSweeney, from Dagenham, was sentenced on December 14 at the Old Bailey after the court heard he assaulted Zara Aleena for nine minutes.
Despite being only yards from a public street and residential properties, the defendant attacked Zara Aleena with a savagery that is almost impossible to believe,” said prosecutor Oliver Glasgow KC.
He continuously kicked and stamped on her head and body, ripped some of her clothes off so he could sexually assault her, and then assaulted her again, kicking and stamping on her face and neck and returned multiple times to continue the horrible torture.
“Finally, once he was satisfied that she would no longer be able to report him for what he had done, he walked away, taking her mobile phone with him and throwing it over a garden wall, ensuring that neither she nor anyone else who might find her could use the phone to call for help.”
“He walked back to the caravan where he was living, and the following morning, having hidden the bloodstained clothes and shoes he had been wearing during the attack, was seen laughing and joking with his friends; seemingly without any concern for what he had done or the fate he had forced upon Zara Aleena.”
