Woman Charged With Murder In Cricklewood Following Tragic Stabbing Incident

A woman has been charged with murder as police launch an investigation into the tragic death of a man in the Cricklewood area of London.

The alarm was raised on the morning of Friday, September 8, 2023, when the London Ambulance Service received a distressing call at approximately 08:10 hours. The call reported a critically injured man at a residential address on Westcroft Close, NW2.

Responding swiftly to the call, officers from the London Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene. There, they discovered a man, estimated to be in his mid-30s, suffering from a stab wound. Despite the valiant efforts of paramedics on site, the man’s injuries proved fatal, and he tragically lost his life at the scene.

A post-mortem examination conducted on Saturday, September 9, 2023, revealed the cause of death to be shock and haemorrhaging resulting from a stab wound. The man has been identified as Gary Sampson, aged 34, a resident of the same address on Westcroft Close. His grieving family has been informed of his passing.

Marie Nellie, a 44-year-old resident of Westcroft Close, NW2, was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident. She has been taken into police custody and is scheduled to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 11, 2023, where she will face charges of murder.

It is known that the woman charged with murder was acquainted with the deceased. Authorities have emphasised that, at this stage of the investigation, they are not seeking anyone else in connection with this tragic incident.

A designated crime scene remains in place at the residence on Westcroft Close as detectives continue their inquiries. The police are appealing to anyone who may possess information relevant to this investigation to come forward and assist with their efforts.
