Escaped Brazilian Murderer Prompts School Closures and Lockdown in Philadelphia Suburbs – UKNIP

Manhunt Madness: Brazilian Killer on the Loose Near Philadelphia

Tense silence has fallen over Philadelphia’s suburbs as police continue the frantic hunt for escaped Brazilian murderer Danelo Cavalcante. Authorities have closed schools in the Oakland J. Robert district and warned residents to lock their doors tight. Cavalcante remains “extremely dangerous” after slipping past guards nearly two weeks ago.

Daring Prison Break Sparks Fear and Frenzy

The 34-year-old’s breakout from Chester County Prison on August 31 has gripped the nation. Despite a massive search using police dogs, drones, helicopters, and armed units, Cavalcante has kept off the radar.

Since his escape, Cavalcante has pulled off a string of brazen acts. He stole clothes, food, and even a van—which he later ditched. The fugitive even managed a shave to confuse the hunt.

Armed and Dangerous After Gun Theft

The situation turned deadly on Monday night when Cavalcante broke into a home garage and stole a .22 calibre rifle decked out with a scope and flashlight. The homeowner fired at the fugitive but missed. Police say Cavalcante got away unharmed.

“He is now considered armed and extremely dangerous,” warned Pennsylvania police spokesman George Bivens. “Residents must stay vigilant and secure their homes.”

Hunt Struggles in Tough Terrain

Despite a strong police presence west of Philadelphia, dense woods have slowed the search. Bivens admitted tracking Cavalcante is like searching for a “needle in a haystack.”

Cavalcante was sentenced to life for murdering his girlfriend in 2021 just one week before his breakout. He’s also wanted for murder in Brazil.

Reward Raised as Sightings Pour In

The reward for information leading to his capture has risen from $20,000 to $25,000. Sightings vary, but none have led to his arrest.

Residents are urged to stay locked down and report any leads immediately as the tense manhunt drags on.
