A road traffic collision occurred earlier today at approximately 1pm in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester. A bus collided with a shop, resulting in a number of injuries and a woman being in a life-threatening condition.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, where it was determined that 12 individuals had been injured in the accident. Among them, one woman sustained critical injuries and is currently receiving urgent medical attention at a nearby hospital. Fortunately, the remaining individuals involved in the collision are reported to be in stable condition, with only minor injuries.
The driver of the bus, identified as a 64-year-old man, has been taken into custody by Greater Manchester Police on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The incident is now under investigation by the police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, who are appealing to witnesses for any information that may aid their inquiries.
