In a harrowing incident, a 35-year-old woman was brutally murdered in Worsley, Greater Manchester, with her young children tragically witnessing the attack. Greater Manchester Police have launched a murder investigation following this devastating event.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, November 10, around 2:40 am. Police responded to reports of a seriously injured woman at Dukesgate Grove in Little Hulton, Worsley. The victim, discovered by her two young children, suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brennand of GMP’s Major Incident Team described the attack as “truly horrific,” emphasizing the traumatic experience for the young witnesses. She urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist the ongoing investigation and provide answers for the children who have lost their mother in such a traumatic manner.

In response to the crime, police have arrested a 45-year-old man suspected of the murder. He was apprehended after fleeing the scene and is currently in custody for questioning. Initial inquiries suggest that the victim was known to the suspect, indicating that this was a targeted attack.

The investigation is in its early stages, and the police are working tirelessly to establish a comprehensive timeline and understand the sequence of events leading to this tragic loss of life.
