Dog Lost Over Cliff In Seaford

In a recent incident highlighting the risks pets face near cliff areas, the Newhaven and Birling Coastguard teams were dispatched around 4:30 pm on Monday 20th of November following reports of a dog that had fallen off a cliff near the Hope Gap steps in the Seaford/Cuckmere area.

Despite a thorough search by the coastguard teams, the dog was unfortunately not found.

In light of this event, authorities are emphasizing the importance of public safety in similar situations. They strongly advise against individuals attempting to rescue their pets themselves in such dangerous circumstances. Instead, they urge the public to prioritize their safety and call 999 immediately, requesting the assistance of the coastguard, who are trained and equipped to handle such situations effectively and safely.
