Cocaine Dealer Arrested By Proactive Police Officers In Sheerness

A drug dealer from Swale, identified as Jason Brown, has been handed a substantial prison sentence after being apprehended by proactive officers from Kent Police’s Proactive Targeting Team during a suspected drug exchange in Sheerness.

The incident unfolded on July 30, 2023, when constables from the Proactive Targeting Team were conducting patrols in an unmarked vehicle in Sheerness. It was during this patrol that they noticed Jason Brown behind the wheel of a Citroen van.

Brown brought his vehicle to a stop on Marine Parade, where officers observed him handing something to an approaching individual. Sensing suspicious activity, the officers acted swiftly.

Subsequently, Brown proceeded to drive away from the scene, prompting the patrol to intercept the van on Broadway. A thorough search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the seizure of a sum of cash, a quantity of cocaine deals, and a mobile phone.

Following the search, Jason Brown was placed under arrest. Further investigations led the authorities to his residential address, where additional class-A drugs were discovered.

Complicating matters, Brown was already on license following a previous prison sentence related to drug offences. He was subsequently charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

Appearing before the Maidstone Crown Court, the 27-year-old Jason Brown entered a guilty plea. In a sentencing hearing on November 27, 2023, he was handed a prison sentence of three years and nine months.
