Grandma’s Death Not Linked to Bexhill Fire, Police Confirm
An investigation into a fire at a maisonette in St Marks Close, Bexhill, last month has cleared the blaze of any link to the death of a 99-year-old woman.
Police Called to Support Fire Services
The elderly lady, who lived nearby, was hospitalised after the fire on November 13 as a precaution but sadly passed away. Authorities confirm her death was due to natural causes, not the fire.
“Our condolences go out to her family and friends at this difficult time,” the police said.
With the cause of death confirmed as natural, no inquest by the Coroner will take place.
Arson Suspect Arrested as Fire Probe Continues
Meanwhile, police have arrested a 26-year-old man from Hastings on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He’s currently on bail while the investigation into the fire’s origin presses on.
The force is urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be reported online or via phone on 101, quoting case number 1457 of 13/11.
