Avon and Somerset Police are urgently seeking a witness who intervened in a concerning incident in Henbury last Wednesday, December 13. The incident involved a young woman, in her late teens, who was reportedly approached by a suspicious man in the Satchfield Crescent area around 5 to 5:30 pm.
The man, who arrived in a red hatchback car, is described as bald, large-built, about 6 feet tall, and in his 50s or 60s. He was wearing a navy T-shirt, light blue jeans, black and white Nike shoes, and had a tattoo of several roses in red and green on his left forearm. After the intervention, he left the scene, heading towards Dragonswell Road.
The police are particularly interested in speaking to the woman who came to the aid of the young woman. Described as having blonde hair in a ponytail, in her 30s, and wearing a professional lanyard, she played a crucial role in de-escalating the situation and ensuring the young woman’s safety.
In an effort to understand more about the man’s behaviour and the circumstances of the incident, the police are conducting CCTV and house-to-house enquiries. The local neighbourhood team has been informed and will assist with patrol plans in the area.
Avon and Somerset Police urge the unknown woman, as well as anyone else who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information, to come forward. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the police online or via phone at 101, referencing the case number 5223304515.
