A high-rise flat fire in Brighton has necessitated the deployment of five fire engines and a significant emergency response team. The incident involves a man who has been rushed to the hospital after a blaze is believed to have broken out in the bathroom of the residence.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and East Sussex Fire and Rescue, were summoned to the scene at approximately 9 pm on New Year’s Eve. The incident occurred at a property located on Kings Road in Brighton. As a precautionary measure, a road closure has been implemented near the tower block in question.
Reports suggest that the fire originated on the 16th floor of the building. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, successfully rescued one man from the affected area and promptly transferred him to the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service personnel.
Fire crews are currently engaged in efforts to combat the blaze, employing a Dry Riser and Hose Reel as part of their firefighting strategy. The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed but is reportedly under investigation by authorities.
