John Budal, 19 of Ena Road, SW16, appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court on Saturday, 30 December charged with murder, robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 3 January.
The investigation into the murder of 27-year-old Michael Patrick Afonso Peixoto remains ongoing. Michael was found with fatal stab wounds in Mayfield Crescent in Thornton Heath at around 22:30hrs on Tuesday, 19 December.
A group of men are believed to have been involved in the attack on Michael.
A 22-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday, 24 December has been bailed pending further enquiries.
