Elderly Woman in Critical Condition After Serious Collision in Stanmore, Two Others Injured – UKNIP

A woman in her 80s is currently in critical condition following a collision in Stanmore earlier today. The incident, which occurred on January 8, has left three individuals injured and a community in shock.

The Common, a road connecting Stanmore and Bushey, has been closed by Police since approximately 11:00 am today. The closure comes as a result of a collision involving two vehicles, where three individuals sustained injuries, including the elderly woman who is currently fighting for her life.

The Metropolitan Police received a distress call at 10:51 am on Monday, January 8th, reporting a collision between two cars at the junction of Stanmore Hill and Heathbourne Road. Officers from the local police department arrived at the scene promptly, accompanied by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

The driver of one of the cars, identified as a woman in her 80s, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she remains in a life-threatening condition. Police officials have confirmed that the woman’s family has been notified of the incident. Meanwhile, two other individuals were treated for minor injuries, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated, “We received a call on January 8th at 10:54 am, reporting a road traffic collision involving two cars on Heathbourne Road in Stanmore. In response, we dispatched multiple resources to the scene, including an incident response officer, two ambulance crews, and a medic in a fast-response car. At the scene, we provided medical attention to three individuals, with two of them subsequently being transported to a hospital for further care.”
