Murder Probe Launched After Woman Dies in Islington Flat Blaze

Detectives have opened a murder investigation following a fatal fire at a residential flat in Islington. The fire broke out just after midday on Saturday, 26 October, on Mingard Walk, N7.

Tragic Scene as Woman Dies, Man Critically Injured

Emergency services, including the London Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene after reports of the fire at 12:14pm. Residents were quickly evacuated as a safety precaution.

A woman was found dead at the scene. Formal identification and a post-mortem will follow. A man in his 30s was also discovered with serious injuries and is now in critical condition in hospital.

Fire Treated as Suspicious, No Arrests Yet

Police are treating the blaze as suspicious. No arrests have been made so far, but enquiries are ongoing. Homicide detectives from Specialist Crime are leading the probe.
