Hero Police Dog Snaps Up Trio in Range Rover Theft
A daring nighttime theft in St Leonards could have slipped away – if not for a top-class police dog. When a Range Rover was stolen from a driveway in the early hours of March 2, Hastings Response officers sprang into action. The stolen vehicle was soon spotted at Crowhurst Recreation Ground.
Suspects Flee, But Canine and Cops Close In
As police approached, the thieves made a run for it. One was caught straight away. Then came the star of the show: PD Tsar, a four-year-old German Shepherd with a nose for trouble. Alongside his handler PC Toby Spires, Tsar tracked down a second suspect hiding in thick brambles.
Third Thief Nabbed Thanks to Dogged Police Work
PD Tsar’s incredible effort didn’t stop there. The third suspect was also caught, proving once again the crucial role police dogs play in cracking cases.
All three suspects have now been granted bail as investigations continue.
