Convicted Killer Shaun Walker on the Run: Police Launch Urgent Manhunt
Police have issued an urgent manhunt for convicted killer Shaun Walker, who has flouted his licence conditions and fled. The public is warned not to approach Walker but to contact the authorities immediately if spotted.
The Brutal Murder That Put Walker Behind Bars
Walker, 29, was jailed for fatally headbutting Barry Thomas, 45, in June 2013 during a spat over a moped in Newport. At a social gathering, Walker punched Mr Thomas multiple times before chasing him up the street to continue the savage attack. Mr Thomas died two days later from a catastrophic brain haemorrhage.
Walker was just 19 at the time. He was convicted of manslaughter in December 2013, handed eight years behind bars plus four years on licence.
Violent Past and Dangerous Partner in Crime
The trial at Newport Crown Court revealed Walker’s violent history, including assaulting a female police officer and fracturing a man’s nose.
His accomplice, Calvin Wall, 46 at the time, was also convicted of manslaughter and jailed for eight years.
Public Urged to Stay Clear and Report Immediately
Given Walker’s violent record and breach of licence, police urge the public not to confront him. Anyone who sees Walker should dial 999 without hesitation.
