Members of the public have been hailed for their courage and swift action in assisting police after a man was convicted for a brutal attack on his then-partner in the street.
Arif Ahmet Alidov, aged 51, from Edmonton, faced trial at Wood Green Crown Court, where he was found guilty of multiple charges including attempted murder, threats to kill, assault with intent to rob, possession of an offensive weapon, ABH, and strangulation. He was subsequently sentenced to 26 years’ imprisonment at the same court on Friday, April 12.
