Teen Weapons Dealer Stabbed and Pushed Into London Canal
A chilling murder shocked west London last summer when 17-year-old Victor Lee, a teenage weapons dealer, was stabbed multiple times and shoved into the Grand Union Canal during a deal gone deadly.
Crossbow Deal Turns Deadly by Canal Towpath
Lee met with a group of teens to sell a crossbow near Wormwood Scrubs Park. After the initial sale, they arranged a follow-up meeting to buy knives. It was at this later rendezvous that Lee was viciously attacked in broad daylight.
Elijah Gokool-Mely, 18, and two unnamed youths aged 14 and 16 have been charged with murder and robbery. Prosecutors say Victor was stabbed with at least two knives to his chest and back before being pushed into the canal.
Brave Houseboat Residents Attempt Rescue
Two men living on nearby houseboats pulled Lee from the water. Tragically, he bled to death on the towpath just minutes later. Witnesses saw the attackers fleeing on bicycles, taking off with Lee’s bike and a rucksack full of knives.
Trial Underway as Teen Defendants Deny Charges
Court heard Lee was “aspirational,” running an online knife-selling operation targeting other youngsters. Despite no direct eyewitnesses to the stabbing, one witness saw Gokool-Mely pushing Lee into the canal after the fatal assault.
The defendants deny all charges, with the trial ongoing.
