Detectives are continuing their investigation into the tragic death of a woman in Bournemouth, issuing a further appeal for information. The incident occurred on Durley Chine Beach, where two people were stabbed late on Friday, May 24, 2024.
The victim, a 34-year-old woman from Poole, sadly died at the scene. Another woman, aged 38 and also from Poole, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey, leading the Major Crime Investigation Team, expressed the urgency of the investigation: “Since this tragic incident was reported to us, we have been driving the investigation forward, collecting as much information as possible to get answers for the loved ones of the young woman who has tragically lost her life and for the surviving victim. Our thoughts remain with them.”
CCTV Images of the Suspect
Detectives have now released CCTV images of the suspect. They urge anyone who was in the area of Durley Chine beach during the night from Friday 24 May to Saturday 25 May 2024 to come forward if they saw the person pictured or anything unusual. Additionally, individuals who were in the vicinity of Durley Roundabout, West Cliff Gardens, Durley Gardens, or West Cliff Drive during that night may have vital clues that could assist the investigation. Did you witness anyone acting strangely, particularly between 10 pm and midnight? Do you have dash-cam or CCTV footage that may provide valuable information?

Community Concerns and Police Presence
Detective Superintendent Dixey emphasised the impact on the community: “We are acutely aware of the concerns this incident has created and continues to create. The protection of our public remains at the forefront of our minds.” The enhanced police presence in the area will continue as long as necessary.
A 17-year-old boy from the Lancashire area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
