Man Arrested After Officer Injured in Devizes  Urgent Appeal to Locate Vehicle Involved

Wiltshire Police are urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in an incident where a police officer was injured over the weekend.

The vehicle in question is identified as a white Dacia Jogger Expression with registration number WU73MXL. It was observed by a police officer at around 11:30 pm on Saturday (1/6) in Conscience Lane, Devizes.

According to reports, the officer stopped his vehicle and approached the occupants of the Dacia in an attempt to engage them. However, the driver of the vehicle failed to cooperate and instead drove away, intentionally colliding with the officer in the process.

The officer sustained injuries as a result of the collision and has since been discharged from hospital, continuing his recovery at home.

Extensive investigations led to the arrest of a man in his 30s from Twerton in Bath, on suspicion of attempted murder. However, the search for the vehicle involved remains ongoing.

Authorities are urging members of the public with any information regarding the whereabouts of the Dacia to come forward. A photograph of a similar vehicle has been provided for reference. It is believed that the vehicle may be in the area west of Bath.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the vehicle is urged to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting log number 383 of June 1.

The assistance of the community in locating the vehicle and aiding the ongoing investigation is crucial, and any information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
