Wiltshire Police Hunt White Dacia After Cop Injured in Hit-and-Run
Wiltshire Police are urgently appealing for help to track down a white Dacia Jogger Expression involved in a shocking incident that left an officer injured over the weekend.
Officer Targeted in Devizes Late-Night Collision
The vehicle, registered WU73 MXL, was spotted around 11:30pm on Saturday (June 1) in Conscience Lane, Devizes. A police officer stopped a car and tried to approach the occupants. Instead of cooperating, the driver sped off, deliberately hitting the officer in the process.
The injured officer was rushed to hospital but has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Man in 30s Arrested, But Hunt for Vehicle Continues
Following extensive investigations, a man in his 30s from Twerton, Bath, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. However, the white Dacia remains at large, with police continuing their search.
Public Urged to Help Locate White Dacia Jogger
Authorities have released a photo of a similar vehicle and believe the Dacia may be in the area west of Bath. They are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or who witnessed the incident to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting log number 383 of June 1.
“The assistance of the community is vital,” police said. “All information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.”
