Major Cyber Attack Disrupts NHS Services in London Hospitals

The incident, which occurred on Monday, disrupted critical services, with blood transfusions being particularly affected.

The attack involved a malware strike on the pathology systems of Kings College Hospital Foundation Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals Foundation Trusts, two of the largest hospitals in the UK. As a result, some departments were unable to connect to their main servers, causing delays and service interruptions.

NHS trusts have reported the incident as a “major impact” on patient care. While A&E departments remain open for emergency treatment, the broader NHS community is urged to use services wisely during this crisis.
