Two Women Arrested After Chemical Chaos in Fulham Flats
Two women have been nabbed on suspicion of producing drugs after a chemical blast in a Fulham block of flats sent ten people, including firefighters, to hospital with breathing troubles.
Midnight Mayhem on Landridge Road
The drama unfolded just after midnight on Wednesday at Landridge Road, Fulham. Emergency services rushed to a fire reported at the flats. On arrival, crews found a mysterious chemical haze. Ten people were exposed to the dangerous fumes and needed urgent treatment.
Thankfully, none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries. Some of those affected were brave London Fire Brigade firefighters who had been fighting the blaze.
Major Emergency Response and Evacuation
- Eight fire engines and 60 firefighters were dispatched to tackle the scene.
- Crews in breathing apparatus helped safely evacuate residents from the building.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed: “We were called at 12:39 am to a chemical incident on Landridge Road. We sent ambulance crews, response officers, our Hazardous Area Response Team, and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated 10 patients, mostly for respiratory issues, and took them all to hospital.”
Police Probe Ongoing—Two Held on Drug Charges
Police are investigating the fire’s cause and the exact chemical involved. As part of the inquiry, a 43-year-old and an 18-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to produce and supply controlled drugs.
Both women were taken to a west London police station and later bailed while inquiries continue. The incident has shone a harsh light on illegal drug production risks in urban residential areas.
