Police were called at around 9.30am on Friday, 19 July to an address in Raebun Avenue, Tolworth after a woman was found unresponsive.
The woman, aged in her 80s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin are aware and being supported by specialist officers.
An investigation has been launched by detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, under DCI Brian Howie.
Officers remain at the scene carrying out further enquiries.
A man in his 80s – who was known to the woman – was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
