Tadley on Edge After Teen Threatened Twice Near Shops
Residents in Tadley are left shaken after a series of incidents involving a 12-year-old boy and a threatening teenager near Bishopswood Road shops.
12-Year-Old Punched and Chased into Woods
On September 22 at around 2pm, a 12-year-old and two friends were approached by an intimidating teenager outside local shops. The older boy punched one of the group in the back before chasing them on foot into nearby woods.
One child feared the teenager might have been carrying a knife, though no weapon was seen during this first encounter.
Knife Threat Sparks Police Probe
Just six days later, the same 12-year-old and a friend were confronted by the same youth at the same spot. This time, the teenager pushed the boy to the ground while brandishing a knife.
Thankfully, the victim was unhurt and fled to a local shop where the owner quickly alerted police. Officers arrived to find the suspect gone but launched enquiries, including CCTV reviews and house-to-house checks.
Police Crackdown on Anti-Social Behaviour
Neighbourhood Sergeant Lisa Kempster said: “We take reports of anyone carrying a knife extremely seriously. Our investigations into these assaults are ongoing.”
“If you witnessed anything on either date at Bishopswood shops, call 101 quoting reference 44200369530. Also get in touch if you know of any similar threats, intimidation, or anti-social behaviour involving knives in Tadley.”
“Regular patrols are underway involving neighbourhood officers, response units, roads policing, and dog units.”
“We urge anyone to report suspicious activity immediately, especially if someone’s in danger or a crime is happening.”
