‘Frostpalm’ Used Encrochat to Strike Drug Deals
Amar Javed, 40, from Luton, operated under the alias ‘frostpalm’ on the high-profile encrypted platform Encrochat. He haggled over cocaine prices and quality thanks to his international contacts.
Javed was arrested at Heathrow Airport in March 2021 as he returned from Pakistan.
Guilty Plea Sees Dealer Slammed Behind Bars
At Luton Crown Court, Javed admitted five counts of offering to supply Class A drugs and one count of being involved in supply. He received a hefty jail term for his crimes.
Detectives Praise Sting Operation That Nabbed Javed
“Javed thought he could hide behind Encrochat. Little did he know, we were onto him,” said Detective Sergeant Scott Hannam.
“Drug dealers like him fuel violence and exploitation in the county. By catching them, we’re making our communities safer. If you know someone dealing drugs, report it – we will put them behind bars.”
