Teenager Appears at Old Bailey Charged with Peckham Murder

A 17-year-old boy has appeared at the Old Bailey, accused of murdering 20-year-old Jesse Lloyd-Smith in an alleyway near his home in south-east London.

Mr. Lloyd-Smith was shot multiple times, including in the head and arms, in East Surrey Grove, Peckham, on July 10. The shooting, which occurred just before 5pm, left the victim with unsurvivable injuries, and he tragically passed away the following day.

The teenage defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces charges of murder in connection with the shooting. He appeared in court via video link from Feltham Young Offender Institution.

Judge Richard Marks KC set a plea hearing for October 22, with a provisional trial date scheduled for May 6, which is expected to last up to three weeks.

The defendant has been remanded in custody. The case continues as investigations into the tragic incident proceed.
