Firefighters Battle Highrise Blaze in Brownhills, Walsall

On Thursday, 29 August, shortly after 1.30pm emergency services responded to a significant fire incident at a highrise building on Lindon Drive in the Brownhills area of Walsall.

A significant fire broke out on the 8th floor of a sixteen-storey building earlier today, prompting a swift and large-scale emergency response. Fire engines from multiple stations, including Aldridge, Bloxwich, Walsall, Willenhall, Bilston, Sutton Coldfield, and Perry Barr, were dispatched to the scene, with a total of 30 firefighters working tirelessly to control the blaze.

The fire, which started in the early hours of the day, led to a coordinated response from the fire services as they worked to prevent the flames from spreading to other parts of the building. Two main jets are currently in use as firefighters battle to extinguish the flames.

To ensure the safety of residents and emergency personnel, cordons have been established around the area. Authorities are urging residents and onlookers to avoid the area and to follow any instructions from emergency personnel as they work to contain the situation.
