A 23-year-old woman arrested in connection with the major investigation into Legacy Independent Funeral Directors in Hull is no longer being treated as a suspect, according to Humberside Police.
No charges have been brought in the investigation to date.

ACC McLoughlin acknowledged the complexity of the case, stating:
This investigation is by far the most challenging and complex due to the vast number of people who have been affected, and who continue to try to come to terms with the grief and the enormity of what has happened.
The families of the 35 deceased individuals have been informed of the latest developments. In July, police identified 163 families linked to ashes found at the funeral home.
McLoughlin assured the public that the investigation is ongoing, emphasizing the toll it has taken on affected families:
“Every strand of this investigation carries an untold amount of grief, heartache, and distress for those affected.”
He reiterated the priority of providing answers and justice to the families involved.
