A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court following charges related to a series of robberies in Gillingham. The incidents occurred on Friday, 2 August 2024, and Sunday, 6 October 2024, involving the theft of a mobile phone and an e-scooter.
On 2 August, two teenagers were reportedly threatened in Wood Street, with one of them having their mobile phone stolen. In a separate incident on 6 October, a boy in Canterbury Street was approached and allegedly had his e-scooter taken after being threatened with harm.
Following an investigation, the suspect was arrested on Tuesday, 8 October, and later charged with two robberies and one attempted robbery.
The 15-year-old boy from Chatham appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court, sitting as a youth court, on Thursday, 10 October. He was granted bail and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, 31 October, for further proceedings.
