Police Scotland are appealing for information following a distressing robbery incident involving a 92-year-old man in his home on Saxe Coburg Street in Edinburgh. The incident occurred on Friday, October 11, at approximately 9.10pm
According to reports, an unidentified man entered the elderly victim’s property, issued threats, and proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene. The direction of the suspect’s escape remains unknown.
Authorities have released a description of the suspect in hopes of aiding the ongoing investigation. The individual is described as a white male, believed to be between his mid-30s and 40s, of average build, and clean-shaven. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a distinctive long knee-length dark blue jacket with large white writing on the front, accompanied by a dark grey baseball cap.

Detective Sergeant Martin Smith of Corstorphine CID stated, “While the victim fortunately escaped physical injury, the experience was undoubtedly very distressing for him.” He urged anyone with information or potential sightings of a man matching the suspect’s description to come forward.
The police are particularly interested in obtaining any private CCTV footage from local residents or relevant dashcam recordings that might assist in their investigation.
