Shocking Robbery of 92-Year-Old in Edinburgh Home

Police Scotland have launched an urgent appeal after a 92-year-old man was threatened and robbed in his own home on Saxe Coburg Street, Edinburgh. The alarming raid took place on Friday, October 11, at around 9.10pm.

Suspect Description Released – Police Want Info

An unknown man broke into the elderly victim’s property, issued threats, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing. His escape route remains a mystery.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, aged between mid-30s and 40s, with an average build and clean-shaven face. He was seen wearing a long, knee-length dark blue jacket with large white lettering on the front, and a dark grey baseball cap.

Distressed Victim, Police Hunt Witnesses and CCTV

Detective Sergeant Martin Smith of Corstorphine CID said: “While the victim fortunately escaped physical injury, the experience was undoubtedly very distressing for him.”

Authorities are urging anyone who might have seen the suspect or caught the incident on CCTV or dashcam to come forward immediately.
