Detectives investigating an assault in Ashford have renewed their appeal to the public to help identify a man captured in CCTV footage. The appeal comes after a second arrest was made in connection with the incident, which took place on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
The victim, a man in his thirties, was reportedly attacked from behind after leaving a pub on Mead Road, Willesborough, at around 10:30 p.m. He was taken to hospital with broken bones and facial injuries but has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Arrests Made
On Friday, October 11, a 20-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries. This follows the arrest of a 26-year-old man from Ashford on October 1, who also remains on bail as investigations continue.
Renewed Appeal
Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they believe could assist with the investigation. Officers are urging anyone who recognises the man or has information related to the assault to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/165283/24.
