Police Release Details Following Machete Rampage in East London

 

Police have released further details following a disturbing incident in East London where a man was seen entering a property armed with a machete.

The alarm was raised around 5:50 PM on Saturday, November 16, after reports of a man brandishing the weapon and behaving aggressively at an address on Sixth Avenue, E14.

Police Response

Officers, including armed police units, responded promptly to the scene. The man was detained on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.


He was arrested and taken into custody, where he remains as investigations continue.

Victim Assaulted

Police confirmed that a man at the property was assaulted during the incident. However, the victim did not sustain any injuries.

Ongoing Investigation

Detectives are continuing their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details about the suspect or motive have been released at this stage.
