Deadly Collision on Coastbound M2
Tragedy struck on the M2 near Faversham on Wednesday evening when a pedestrian was hit by multiple vehicles. The fatal smash happened just after 8pm on the coastbound carriageway between Junction 5 (Sittingbourne) and Junction 6 (Faversham).
A man in his 50s was sadly declared dead at the scene. Emergency crews from Kent Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed in but could not save him. His next of kin have been informed.
Road Closures and Disruptions
Police quickly shut the coastbound side of the motorway, and the London-bound carriageway was also temporarily closed. Authorities say the London-bound side should reopen by 4pm today, but the coastbound section remains closed as investigations continue. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
