Mother Killed After Speeding Car Mounts Pavement in Westcliff

A 52-year-old mother has tragically died and her 23-year-old daughter injured after a car jumped the pavement and hit them in Westcliff, near Southend-on-Sea, just days before Christmas.

Horrific Crash on St John’s Road

The smash happened at around 5:30pm on December 12, at the junction of St John’s Road and Hamlet Court Road. Witnesses said the car, a black Suzuki Splash, was speeding before it mounted the pavement and struck the pair.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

Emergency teams quickly took the mother and daughter to hospital. Sadly, the mother later died from her injuries. Her daughter suffered injuries that are “not life-threatening or life-changing.”
