Operation Brock Ends: M20 Set for Overnight Closures
Operation Brock, the notorious contraflow on the M20 designed to ease chaos at the Port of Dover, is finally being lifted this weekend. But don’t pop the champagne just yet — significant overnight closures are planned to rip out the system.
Where and When?
- London-bound: M20 will shut between junctions 9 (Ashford) and 8 (Maidstone).
- Coastbound: Road closed from junction 7 (Maidstone/Sittingbourne) to junction 9 (Ashford).
- Timing: Closures start at 8pm Sunday, 22 December, and last until 6am Monday, 23 December.
Travel Tips: Avoid Satnav Mayhem
Clear diversion signs will guide drivers. Follow these carefully — your Satnav might take you down the wrong road. Plan ahead and expect delays during the closure hours.
Back to Normal… Almost
With Operation Brock gone, traffic on the M20 should flow smoothly again, just in time for the holiday rush. However, overnight closures mean extra caution is a must for drivers.
